From 1 April 2023 Llais replaced the seven Community Health Councils who have represented the interests of people in the NHS in Wales for almost 50 years.
Making a complaint about us
We recognise that we may not always get things right. If this happens, it is important that you tell us about it as soon as possible. We can deal with complaints about how we carry out our activities, including complaints about our staff or people working on our behalf.

Llais Gwent Engagement Summary - Penpergwm House Residential Care Home
As part of our local workplan, Llais Gwent Region has committed to engage with people at the point they are receiving a health and social care service. Therefore, we arranged for two of our visiting volunteers to attend Penpergwm Home (Residential Home) to speak with people who reside there, to gain their feedback about what it’s like for them to stay at Penpergwm House, and their access to health and social care services.
Making a complaint about us - Procedure
At Llais, your voice in health and social care, we aim to give the best possible service to everyone we provide a service to or work with. We also know that we may not always get things right. If this happens, it is important that you tell us about it as soon as possible, so that we can take action straight away.
We are committed to dealing effectively with any concerns or complaints you may have about our services or the way we carry out our activities. We aim to clarify any issues you may be unsure about. If possible, we’ll put right any mistakes we may have made and seek feedback from you on how we did.
Wherever possible, we will provide any service you’re entitled to which we have failed to deliver.
If we did something wrong, we’ll say sorry and, where possible, try to put things right for you. We aim to learn from our mistakes and use the information we get from concerns and complaints to improve our services.
Llais Gwent Region – Visiting Summary - Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr – Anwylfan Ward
As part of our local plan, Llais Gwent Region are committed to undertake several face-to-face ward visits, to gain feedback from people at the point that they are receiving care.

Llais Gwent Region - Visiting Summary Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr – Oakdale ward
As part of our annual plan, Llais Gwent Region has stated our commitment to undertake face-to-face ward visits and to gain feedback from people at the point that they are receiving care.
On 2nd August 2023, our volunteer visitors attended Oakdale ward of Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr in Caerphilly. The purpose of this visit was to establish the level of people’s satisfaction whilst staying on this ward.
To complete this visit, our volunteers engaged with people on this ward and noted their feedback using a survey.
