What we do
Llais West Wales Region is here to make sure your views and experiences are used by decision-makers to plan and deliver better health and social care services in your local area.
We hear from the public in many different ways. We visit NHS and social care services to talk to patients, residents and carers. We talk to people at public events, and through community groups.
Our Advocacy Service helps people who want to raise a concern about care or treatment.
We use surveys, apps and social media to engage with our community, and we produce reports on what we've heard.

View all publicationsIn this, our second year, Llais has stepped up its role as the independent voice of the people in health and social care by hearing from more than 40,000 people across Wales. From maternity services and emergency care to support for carers and access to dentistry, people have shared their experiences with honesty, urgency, and hope. Behind every voice is a story, and behind every story is a lesson to learn or a call to act.
And we have acted. This report provides a clear picture of our work and our impact.
We have operated in Wales since 1 April 2023. Our response draws on what we’ve heard from people about their experiences of health and social services during this time. It reflects our role in supporting people through complaints advocacy, our wider engagement activities, and making representations to services. This includes safeguarding, support services, and system integration.

Raising a concern about health and social care services
When things go wrong, raising your concern can seem “a step too far” or too time-consuming, especially as it may be at a particularly difficult time.
But raising your concern in the right way is important. It can make a positive difference to others, preventing the same happening to them and ensuring our future care is better.
We can help with complaints advocacy
If you need to raise a concern about an NHS or social care service, you can talk to us. Our trained, dedicated complaints advocacy staff will provide you with the free, independent, and confidential support you are entitled to.
