Cwm Taf Morgannwg engagement events for parents and / or carers of neurodiverse children

Parents and carers of Neurodiverse children (aged 2-17) and those with mental health difficulties/additional learning needs, your views and thoughts are needed.

In partnership with the Behaviour Support Hub, a parent-led, registered charitable organisation, that provides early intervention and long-term support for parent carers/ Llais Cwm Taf Morgannwg the national, independent body set up by Welsh Government to give the people of Wales a stronger voice in their health and social care services we are undertaking a period of engagement for parents/ carers. Together we are asking you to please share your experiences (good or bad) of both health and social care services that support Neurodiverse children and young people, and those with mental health difficulties / additional learning needs.

The engagement period commences from Thursday 17th October 2024 until Tuesday 31st December 2024.

The Behaviour Support Hub and Llais Cwm Taf Morgannwg have arranged a number of engagement drop-in sessions. This will be an opportunity for parents/carers to obtain support to complete the survey or to share your views in a less formal way.

Parents/ Carers are invited to come along on the following dates:

7th November, 12.30-1.30pm - Pontypridd behaviour support hub, 33 Gelliwastad Road, Pontypridd, CF37 2BN.

14th November, 12.30 - 1.30pm at Cynon Linc, Seymour Street, Aberdare, CF44 7BD.

21st November, 12.30-1.30pm - Pontypridd behaviour support hub, 33 Geliwastad Road, Pontypridd, CF37 2BN. 

28th November, 12.30-1.30pm  - Llanharan Community Drop in - 23A Bridgend Road, Llanharan, Pontyclun, CF72 9RD.

11th December, 11am - 12 noon - Voluntary Action Merthyr Tydfil, 89-90 Pontmorlais, Merthyr Tydfil, Mid Glamorgan, CF47 8UH.

5th December, 2pm - 3pm - Baobab Bach Pencoed Community Pantry, Pencoed Miners Welfare Hall, Heol-Y-Groes, Pencoed, Bridgend. CF35 5PE

We will share the findings with the NHS, local authorities, Welsh Government and others to inform them, what parents and/or carers think about these services. This information will allow them to see what people think is working well and take action to improve services where needed - as soon as possible.
